Let's Prevent Burn-Out starting NOW!

We have all burnt out before. Maybe you're feeling burnt out right now...you just.can't.do.it.anymore. I've been there many a time, but have figured out how to stop it from happening & I'd love to share what I've learned with you! It's easy to get to the point where you feel tapped out. There are schedules to follow, a house to keep up with, kids to take care of, a job to stay on top of etc... no matter what your situation is, if you don't pay attention to how you're spending your time you'll get maxed out fast. Here are a few things I've learned that are a MUST to stay on top of burn-out: 1. Take time out of your day for YOU.

It can be as little as 5 minutes of stretching, to a full hour lunch of eating, walking & catching up with a friend (for example), or even taking a portion of the day to do whatever it is that will FILL YOU UP! **The amount of time doesn't necessarily matter...it's the point that you spend time every day on yourself. 2. Ask for help when you need it.

No one can do it all...no one! Even if it might be hard for you to do, reach out & ask for help. Ask for a few small things! Those small things add up to less stress & burn out. Don't forget that most of the time people are not only willing, but WANT to help you! Helping each other out creates support & community, so be sure to reciprocate...it will feel good to help others & will make it easier for you to ask for help! 3. Be silly & do 1 thing that's FUN every week.

Life is supposed to be FUN...yet most of the time we find ourselves creating lifestyles that are less than fun without even realizing we're doing it. Joy doesn't always just come to us...we have to make time for it & put effort into creating it! Don't complicate this - find small ways to have fun every day. Be silly with your kids, create a new home project that will be fun for you, go for a hike with your dog...go skiing! Whatever will make you smile, laugh & forget about the routine...DO THAT! When you take time to fit these small things in, you'll find that you'll experience less stress and therefore less burnout. Not to mention life will feel lighter, more enjoyable & easier.
